This concludes this YouTube video embedding test.

This test was brought to you by: Ubuntu Linux, gVim, Vimpress (Vim blogging plugin), and the letter C. C is for cookie, and that’s good enough for me.

So… I’m Joshua, who are you?

I’m a software developer. I didn’t get here the normal way. My Grandfather let me take a couple of his Pascal books home when I was 13 or 14. He taught me Microsoft Access programming one summary when I was 16. I developed small Access databases for “walking around” money all through high school. I took some community college and a couple of those $2000 development courses from ITT Tech. My first “real” job was writing a construction job tracking system in Microsoft Access 97 for Alliance Computer Technologies.

I’ve moved on to bigger and better (depends on who you ask) things now. I’m doing C#.NET/MS SQL work now.

Unfortunately, my current employer doesn’t hold very much “excitement” for me. There’s only so much Windows Forms/C.R.U.D. development one guy can handle.

I’d like to use this blog to bring a little excitement back.

Topics I’d like to cover:

Software Development (with code!) including, but not limited to:
C#
Mono
Python
MySQL
VIM/gVIM
Amazon Web Services

Trading Technology
Forex
NASDAQ
Mixing Machine Learning with Trading
Trading API’s
Algorithm Testing

Fatherhood
What it takes to raise my daughter
Geek Toys for Dad

Well see how this turns out. Thanks for reading!
